This the "Über-Cute" quilt. It's very Very cute. My daughters think it looks very Cath Kidston but not a single fabric of hers has been used.
The drunkard's path blocks were easier than I had anticipated. It did take me a while to decide how to quilt it. I thought my normal cross hatch might be a little too minimal. I am pleased with the overall look of it.
I even splashed out on an expensive back for it.

Finished winding ways
I finished my mini Winding ways quilt. No it's not big it's only 60cm x 60cm but it is a finish. On close inspection you will see that all blocks are perfect. However there is improvement The last blocks are better than the first.
I like how the patterns work. There are circles and ovals. I will have to make a larger version of this.
Because this is going to a young lady who is now 15 days old and around 9 lbs I decided to use fleece as a back for the quilt.
The stats:
60cm x 60cm finished
Accuquilt winding ways 8 inch finished die
Fabric from the stash; no new fabric was bought. The fabrics were all bought at Lady sew and sew.
First strike of the finish list for Q1.

A little post before the weekend
I have now done 12 scrap trip along blocks. Having an Accuquilt strip cutter makes easy work of this. I am not sure I would like to do this all with a rotary cutter. I am liking it more. Not in Love yet but it's growing on me.
Talking of accuquilts; does anybody else find the life of the cutting mats a little disappointing? Or do I just over use my accuquilt? Any thoughts on this are welcome.
To pick up the girls, walk the small black dog while avoiding male dogs (it seems that she is most alluring - dog owner will know what I mean :-) ) and then weekend. Hurrah.

Advent, Advent,
ein Lichtlein brennt. (advent advent a little light burns). All right not yet but I am busy making advent calendars for the daughters.
I cut 100 squares. Actually I outsourced that part. I got the daughters to do that for me using the accuquilt. So much quicker and quieter. Child labour on a rainy afternoon is much recommended :-)
I added binding to 50 squares. I was going to machine embroider the numbers on but I found that they were too small.
I spent last night tracing numbers onto bondaweb. I have since realised that I forgot some. Oops
And this is what almost 25 pocket fronts look like. I think the scissors dent in my fingers gone down enough for me to start on the next lot of numbers. Two hours till I have to pick them up from school. No problem. Ahem.

Birthday party
The Craft birthday party went well. Of course yours truly forgot to photograph the other bags. oops
The top one is youngest daughter's effort and the other one is eldest aka the birthday girl. I think they did all right. None of the girls burnt themselves on the iron and no one complained about being bored. Pizzas went down well and they even ate some carrot stick and cucumber.
