Have you ever said that would never ever do something again? Well I did. After I finished my hexagon quilt (roughly 15 years in the making). Somehow I seem to have forgotten that I said that. I have started on a new hexagon paper pieced quilt.
I blame my daughters. They took up swimming and I got bored waiting for them at the pool. I hope that this one will take less than 15 years to finish :-)

Resolved to sew 2012
pink scrap quilt |
Quilt for niece1 |
summer dress for me |
orphan quilt blocks |
hexagon flowers |
5. Finish the man's quilt. I have half the blocks made and the need to get on with the rest. The problem is husband wanted me to use his old shirts. They are mostly blue and checked, so I am a little bored right now.
6. Actually join in with a quilt along not just look at them and think about it.
7. Be more self assured. I can make dresses, I can make quilts. People don't just say they like them to not hurt my feelings.
Now to fit all that in around housework, children, puppy and trying to build up my reputation as a freelance writer of scientific documents. No worries. :-)

Hexagons
I was never going to do another hexagon quilt ever again. No really, never. Well that was until I had to stay at the pool for an hour watching my two girls. I got very bored. The light on the spectator bench isn't good enough to attempt cross stitch, so I thought some I need another project. Well here it is. Hexagons - the return. I hope this doesn't take as long as the first one.

Good intentions

I have the intention to be good and keep this blog up. Well we'll see. This is intended to be a blog about my sewing endeavours.
I like to sew. I like cross stitch and have recently become very passionate about patchwork.
My first venture into patchwork was a hexagon quilt. It only took me 15 years to complete :-)
I then made a log cabin quilt for daughter2 and daughter1. When I took them to the local quilt shop for advice I booked myself onto a course to learn more. I haven't stopped since.
