Holiday

Well sort of. It was more a stay at home and do fun stuff with children.

We went to a craft fair in Stonor Park. This little vase came home with me. Very pretty. The potter who made it had lovely vases but I hadn't taken enough cash, so just a little vase this time. Next year however...

We went to exciting swimming pool with lots of slides. No photos the cameras were not allowed.

We went punting
Husband did a great job. He only lost the pole once.

My mother made dresses for the Sylvanians, so lots of playing.

Did some sewing finally this week

Managed to get some time to do some sewing in. I made two bags using Simplicity pattern 2551.
The yellow bag is made from my friends curtains and some fabric another friend donated from her stash. Youngest daughter loves the touchy feely ness of the velvet curtains and the different material for the inside and pockets. Friend L wants a bag like it too, with Kangaroo lining. Well maybe Christmas present for her I think.

I then used some left over from my Ikea curtains to make another bag. I teamed this with Spring Street by P&B Textiles as the lining and trim. I like the green bag best but daughter one has claimed it. I am allowed to borrow it though.
Have a good weekend.

Not much happening

I have had precious little time for sewing. Children are home, puppy has become an adolescent and work (paid for work I should say) has finally arrived.

I have made cushion covers for a friend out of her old curtains. Not very exciting but at least it's something.

Have a good summer hols I will try to be more interesting soon.

Fresh sewing day

I thought I hadn't done that much in July because paid work kicked off and the summer hols started.
I made lots of little purses to give away to people. I also made two pencil cases for special more deserving teachers. I seem to have misplaced the pictures of those though.
Little wallets made using a pattern bought at quilt taffy's Etsy shop.
Husband has a "man" version, which is on a business trip with him as we speak.
I made two of these blocks using a tutorial on Lilly's quilts.

I finished Kaleidoscope baby quilt and a cushion for my mother. I also started a dress for Darling daughter but that is still a WIP and did some work on Monochrome quilt.

Well must get on with some report writing before I take the girls to the farm.
I am linking this to the small blog meet.
